Project Overview
The Gigwalk application is made for allowing odd jobs related to retail, restaurants, customer experience and marketing to be made more accessible to even the most casual of users. By completely redesigning the app, the overall user experience was enhanced for utility and reinforced with a new logo design and a new user interface. Upon recognizing who would benefit the most from an application like Gigwalk, the user flow was repackaged for speed, simplicity and consistency. Existing features such as the profile were reexamined to create a congruent and organized space for generating more gigs, and for easy to adjust account settings. The notifications feature was adapted for alerts and reminders for perpetual punctuality and the filter attribute grants the user the ability to generate gigs based on type, pay and proximity. A map feature was added with easy to distinguish gigs by location through color and type and is easily transferred to a list property for accelerated gig exploration. New colors utilized were inspired by the urban scenery; blue, white and green are the colors used for street signs in the US, and the yellow and orange colors are often used for wayfinding and roads, while the dark grey is representative of asphault. The new wordmark logo exerts movement and pace, and the personified letter i takes on a human character.
